Pre-Law Advisor/Program Coordinator

Catherine Clutter is the University of Georgia’s Pre-Law Advisor and Program Coordinator. She counsels and advises students interested in attending law school and assists in the application process with school selection, LSAC process, letters of recommendation, and personal statement review. She conducts multiple orientation sessions, application workshops, law practitioner panel discussions, and shadow programs to aid in the law school application process.  The Pre-Law Advising Office also hosts an annual Law School Fair to provide interested students with access to over 65 law school schools and their recruiters.  In addition, Ms. Clutter is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Georgia, teaching an undergraduate / graduate level Environmental Law course every Spring semester. She has also been the lead instructor for the Pre-Law Learning Community and taught a freshman seminar on Bioethics. 

Prior to joining the Pre-Law Advising Office, Ms. Clutter was the Director of Extended Campuses at the University of Georgia and additionally served as Legal Counsel to the Office of the Vice President for Research where she counseled on contracts, intellectual property and regulatory compliance.

Previously, she was a litigation associate for Bouhan, Williams & Levy and for Painter, Ratterree & Bart in Savannah, Georgia, focusing primarily in commercial litigation and professional liability defense at both the trial and appellate levels.  Ms. Clutter was also an associate at Blasingame, Burch, Garrard & Ashley in Athens, Georgia in the medical malpractice area.

Ms. Clutter earned her bachelor's degree in political science and English, cum laude, from the University of Georgia and her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, from the University of Georgia where she was also on the Editorial Board of the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law.
